Academic Policy Handbook
There is a document called the KCITI Academic Policy Handbook (completed 4 May 2023) that lays out many of the formal academic policies and procedures.
- It covers how the Academic Committee works (membership, how decisions are made)
- It includes how prospective students apply (application procedures, fees, checking eligibility)
- It sets out entry requirements for programs, handling of admissions, awaiting lists, etc.
Admissions Policy / Application Requirements
- Prospective students fill out an application form, pay a non-refundable application fee.
- They must present certain documents: KCSE results, leaving certificate, copy of ID, birth certificate, passport size photos.
- For foreign students: requirement of validated transcripts or certificates.
Fee & Miscellaneous Charges
There are published fees and other charges (insurance, application fees, internal exams, lab/equipment, activity fees, etc.) seen in FAQs and fee structure pages.
Mission / Vision / Values
While this isn’t a “policy” document per se, KCITI has a stated mission: “Train for high-quality technical job skills at affordable fees.”
The values implied include affordability, quality in technical skills, service to students, etc. This helps guide the policies.
